Attached below is the Study Guide for this week. We will have a Math quiz on the classwork/homework from early week on Wednesday. Spelling words and skills are listed below. Your child will be doing homework using those spelling words. I do assign homework, but should NEVER take more than 30 minutes!! Please let your child read with you nightly!!

 

Week of  April 24 - 28

Reading Skills: 

Skill: We will be learning cause and effect. 


Your child will continue working on answering and asking questions to show comprehension and understanding.

Language Skills: This week we will be working with commas in compound sentences.

Phonics:This week we will be learning about the suffixes -ness, 

and -less.

Math Skills: This week in math we will identify, analyze, and draw geometric shapes.

Science: This week we will be learning about Nutrition.


Social Studies: This week we will learn about Community Helpers .  

Practice reading every night for 30 minutes with someone.

Selection Words:

roundup- the act of driving or bringing cattle together from long distances


chuckwagon- a wagon that carries food and cooking equipment for cowboys 


bellowed- made a loud, deep noise like a roar
